On this tour, your task is to lift the curse of the beer wagon driver thus saving the City Hall from destruction. You have ONE hour to complete the task at hand.
You will be guided via your phone and you can get hints in case you need help solving the tasks.
Start location: The fountain in the City Hall Square (Rådhustorvet) in Sønderborg. The tour is approximately one km in total and in relatively even terrain. For the duration of the tour, you will be out in the open.
Time: The hyperlink for the tour is active the entire day thus giving you the opportunity to begin the tour when it suits you. At the end of the day the hyperlink for the tour will no longer be able to use. When beginning your tour, you have ONE hour, and when the time is up the tour will automatically end.
Age: We recommend the participation of at least one adult on your team. There is no minimum age as such, so everyone is can join in for the fun.

Language: English.
Price: DKK 40.00 + DKK 59.00 per person.
As preparation: You will need clothing and shoes suitable for the weather and the terrain. Remember to fully charge your phones. You can bring a power bank just in case.
Paper and pen are useful tools, however, they are not necessary tools for the tour.
Toilet: There is a public toilet near Sønderborg Castle at the parking lot.
Parking: Usually parking at Sønderborg Castle, Saint Mary’s Church or behind the City Hall is free, though it might be time limited.
How to get started
Via your mobile phone, you are in full control of the escape-tour ”The Curse of the Beer Wagon Driver”, and you will continuously be informed of the location of the task at hand on your screen. You solve the tasks and enter the results on your phone.
All communications will go through the phones thus there is no direct contact to the headquarters of EscapeTour.dk.
You get the best possible experience by appointing one of the team members as Game Master. The role of the Game Master will be entering the team’s answers on and asking for hints if necessary. All other team members may open the hyperlink on their own phone. This makes it easier for you to solve the tasks together!
To every task you are able to ask for up to four hints but beware! The fourth and final hint will give you the answer to the task. Only request hints when needed and when you agree on it. If you have not tried escape-ture before, you should expect that you will need hints to complete the tasks – this is completely normal.
In case you are more than one group going on this tour and wish to compete with each other you will have to book a tour for every group wanting to participate.
Points
Time is of the essence when appointed points for the tour “The Curse of the Beer Wagon Driver”. The number of requested hints, and the number of correct answers during the tour will also affect the points awarded to the team.
Maximum points per task is 1,000.
For every wrong answer you lose 100 points and for every hint you request you will be charged 250 points.
Because time is of the essence you will be awarded a time bonus if you manage to finish the tour within the appointed time of one hour. The time bonus is a combination of the time you used to finish every task and the total amount of points earned during the tour.
An example:
Points awarded for a successful tour = 4,800 points
Time used = 42 minutes
Time bonus = 4,800 * (1-42/60) = 1,440 points
Total = 4,800 + 1,440 = 6,240 points

Your team’s result will be shown on results page.
Cancellation policy
In case of it being a rainy day, we suggest rescheduling your tour to another day. Send us an email to info@escapetour.dk with describing the reason for your wish of rescheduling and request a new date for your tour. When we have received your email, we will assess your request.
